Chief EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has said Britain will be excluded from many Europe-wide security databases and measures if Brexit happens and Britain refuses to participate in the European Court of Justice.
Commenting, Chuka Umunna MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“It is now plain that Theresa May’s Red Lines – which were never discussed in the referendum campaign – now threaten the safety and security of Britain.
“Refusing to participate in a cross-European court is going to mean our police and security services are going to be weakened.
“Nobody voted to make Britain less safe but that looks like the consequence of the reckless Brexit mess Mrs May is going to deliver. That is why the demand for a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal is getting louder and louder. Brexit is a big deal, but not a done deal.”
