Theresa May met Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels today and they agreed nothing other than to hold more talks.
Commenting, Anna Turley MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, stated:
“The clock is ticking ever more loudly but we are no closer to any clarity on Brexit.
“Today has done nothing to assist businesses having to plan for Brexit.
“A clear understanding about our future customs arrangements, our trade policy, our immigration policy and the rules our businesses must follow is not just important for clarity’s sake – it is essential for jobs, investment and the proper functioning of government.
“Questions about how we will regulate medicines and air travel, how we will share data and criminal records with our allies, and whether we will continue to cooperate with Europe on foreign policy and climate change are not merely nuance to be filled in at a later date. These are matters of fundamental importance to the prosperity, security and welfare of all our citizens.
“It is now essential that Parliament acts to stop the UK crashing out of the EU on 29 March without any clue as to our final destination.”
