New research from Make UK and Squire Patton Boggs shows that 76% of manufacturers think a No Deal Brexit would have a “disastrous” impact on their businesses.
Commenting, Anna Turley MP, leading supporter of a People’s Vote, said:
“The only options Boris Johnson is willing to consider are a bad deal and No Deal and we now know No Deal is very much worse than a bad deal.
“No Deal would destroy jobs and discourage investment in manufacturing for years to come. In the North, Scotland, the Midlands and Wales the impact would come first and last longest.
“London and the South would not escape but the hardest hit would be elsewhere.
“But no one has to accept a bad deal as though there was no other choice. We do not have to settle for the crumbs from Boris Johnson’s table.
“We can demand a People’s Vote and keep the option of our current deal as EU members on the table. The only fair and democratic way out of this mess is for the people to have the final say.
“That is why hundreds of thousands of people will be marching on Parliament this Saturday. Boris Johnson and his hedge fund backers cannot be allowed to force either No Deal or a bad deal on us.”
