The Professional and Business Services Council, representing 4.6 million people employed in the services sector, has written a letter to the Prime Minister warning of the consequences of a bad Brexit deal that fails to take the needs of services into account.
Commenting, Gareth Thomas MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“The UK services sector is now adding its voice to the clarion call from businesses worried about the disastrous consequences of a hard Brexit. As services makes up more than 80% of our economy, they must be listened to.
“It's now clear that the Brexit being delivered threatens to make us all poorer. That's not what anyone voted for in 2016.
“With the Brexit threat to jobs and the wider economy growing by the day, we need a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal so that we as a country can decide whether or not the terms on offer are good enough.”
