The Centre for London’s latest quarterly economic survey points to the uncertainty around Brexit damaging economic prospects and making the capital a less attractive place to live.
Commenting, Gareth Thomas MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“It is not the super-rich or the elite who will lose out if London suffers from a bad Brexit deal. They can always jet on to their next hotspot.
“The losers will be the people who work in firms across our vital services sector if that starts to cuts jobs, the students who will see the best teachers and research funding leave, and everyone who relies on an NHS that is being crippled by the loss of key staff who have come from elsewhere in Europe.
“Brexit is an ideological experiment and those who are running it seem more and more like the mad professors of B-movie horror flicks – relishing the damage they are doing and looking forward to the chaos that is coming.
“None of the rest of us – whether we backed leave or remain – voted to be part of this. That is why we must have a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal.”
