Today’s Times/YouGov poll shows supporters of a People’s Vote on the outcome of the Brexit negotiations ahead for the first time – with a 37/45 deficit a month ago now transformed into a 42/40 lead.
Commenting, Gareth Thomas MP, a leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“Momentum in this debate is only in one direction. A month ago supporters of a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal were 7% behind, now we are 2% ahead.
“The Brexiters are in deep intellectual and political trouble. They have run out of ideas and offer nothing positive to the people of Britain.
“The Government’s Brexit White Paper has been torn to shreds and ministers cannot decide whether they are in favour or against ‘no deal’ as option. Parliament is deeply divided and unable to back a coherent Brexit option.
“That is why millions of people now back a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal. Brexit is a big deal. But it is definitely not a done deal.”
