Tom Enders, chief executive of Airbus, said this morning that the British government “still has no clue, no consensus on how to execute Brexit without severe harm".
He added: “Brexit in any form, soft or hard, light or clean - whatever you call it - will be damaging."
Commenting, Gareth Thomas MP, former trade minister and leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“The warning from Airbus could not be clearer. The only sort of Brexit deal that is going to be on the table will be a bad deal and will harm one of Britain’s biggest and most important manufacturers.
“Airbus supports more than 100,000 jobs in the UK and it is unacceptable for ministers to ignore these warnings and to attempt to silence them as we have seen in recent days.
“Brexit is a big deal but it is not a done deal, and as the costs and complexity of it become clear, demand for a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal will only grow louder.”
