Commenting on today’s Nigel Farage press conference, Jo Stevens MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“Nigel Farage’s latest electoral vehicle hardly deserves to be called a political party. It has no genuine membership. No policies beyond support for a disastrous no deal crash out Brexit. And there is no sign of a manifesto.
“Its candidates, hand-picked by Nigel Farage, are a liability and the last thing he wants to see is a spotlight shone on them or their views – such as opposition to banning child abuse images and jihadi videos.
“Over the course of a 20-year career in Brussels, Nigel Farage has proved himself adroit at publicity and raking in the cash for himself. But he always ducks responsibility for his statements and actions. Instead, he is still being allowed to propagate myths about what people voted for in the last referendum unchallenged by all those in thrall to his stockbroker-as-man-of-the-people act.”
