Responding to the Prime Minister’s remarks in Sharm El Sheikh, Ian Murray MP, a leading supporter of People’s Vote, said:
“The Prime Minister can offer no certainty over our country’s future and no answers to any of the big questions about Brexit. All she can offer is delay followed by delay and ever deepening crisis.
“Her reckless strategy of running down the clock is a crude attempt to blackmail MPs into voting for a deal that a majority clearly see as bad for the UK and which the Treasury’s own figures show will make us £100 billion worse off. Far from taking back control, the Government’s plan for Brexit would leave us with no clarity and no closure. That is why the protest on 23 March will demand the public are given the final say on any Brexit deal amid clear signs that the Government will go down to the wire in its desperate efforts to secure a Parliamentary majority for a deal that makes no sense for the UK.
“The only way forward now is a People’s Vote which gives the public the final say on whether they want Brexit to go ahead or instead keep the deal we currently have as members of the EU.”
