The Prime Minister appeared before the parliamentary Liaison Committee today, and struggled to explain how her proposed ‘Facilitated Customs Arrangement’ would work in practice.
Commenting, Rupa Huq MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“Theresa May’s plans for Brexit are so unbelievably convoluted and unworkable that even she can’t explain how they would work in practice. Though she won’t admit it, deep down she must know that her Brexit plan is already dead in the water.
“The proposals that emerged from the Chequers car crash and the subsequent Brexit White Paper satisfy nobody, whether they voted leave or remain. Brexit is a mess and the whole country knows it.
“The argument in favour of a People’s Vote is growing in strength every day, and is gathering more and more support. Brexit will affect generations for generations, so the people of this country are entitled to have their say.”
