Rex Sandbach runs a business in the West of England that makes specialist epoxies that are transported all over Europe and often used for medical treatments. He is deeply concerned about the impact of the botched Brexit negotiations on his firm’s future. Today’s news about Airbus only demonstrates that the threat his business faces is also facing some of the biggest employers in the UK.
Rex Sandbach said:
“Every day that the mess of the Brexit negotiations goes on, is another day lost to proper planning for investment and business growth for any company that trades across the EU.
“For my company the risk is even greater. It is literally the case that my business is dependent on the frictionless trade that membership of the Customs Union and Single Market guarantees.
“We are not on the scale of Airbus, but the principle is exactly the same: highly capital intensive manufacturing that is at grave risk from the mess that the Brexit process has become.
“And that is why I support the demand for a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal and why I will be on the March for a People’s Vote.”
