Brexit “will cause significant harm to the NHS” and the Government’s plans for a Brexit deal are “only slightly less harmful” for the NHS than the disaster of a no-deal crash-out concludes a paper in The Lancet, one of the world’s leading medical science journals, published tonight (25 February).
Commenting, Dr Paul Williams MP, GP and leading supporter of the People’s Vote said:
“The Prime Minister’s Brexit deal will do enormous damage to the NHS.
“Any form of Brexit will leave us worse off and damage our economy. And a smaller economy means less money for health.
“Nobody voted to damage the NHS. Now we know what the risks to the NHS from Brexit are, the public must be given the final say on any Brexit deal in a People’s Vote. On 23 March people from all over the UK will be joining our protest to demand that any Brexit deal is put to the people and that we have the option of voting to keep our deal as members of the EU.”
