The ORB Brexit polling tracker has found that approval ratings for the management of Brexit negotiations and confidence in the Prime Minister to secure the right deal for the country have hit new lows.
Just 24% now approve of the way Theresa May is managing the Brexit negotiations, down from 29% last month, with just 22% agreeing that May will get the right deal for Britain, down from 26% last month.
Commenting, Stephen Doughty MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“It’s no wonder that confidence in the Government’s handling of Brexit negotiations has collapsed quicker than the value of the pound does whenever Liam Fox starts speaking. Ministers have mismanaged this process from day one and it’s the people of this country that will end up paying the price.
“Whether you voted leave or remain in 2016, almost no-one is happy with how the Brexit process is playing out. None of the promises that were made are being kept, and it looks like we’re going to end up with either a bad deal, no deal or a ‘blind Brexit’, with no idea where we’ll end up.
“That’s why more and more momentum is building behind the campaign for a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal, so that the people of this country can decide for themselves whether or not the terms on offer are good enough.”
