Leading manufacturers have warned of the disastrous impact Boris Johnson’s Brexit would have on their industries, because of the failure to secure continued UK participation in key EU agencies.
Commenting, Stephen Doughty MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“Boris Johnson’s botched Brexit would be a disaster for businesses and manufacturers. That’s the message coming loud and clear from numerous sectors, including the automotive, aerospace and chemical industries. With his dangerous ‘do or die’ approach, the Prime Minister is playing politics with people’s jobs and livelihoods.
“It’s now obvious there’s no version of Brexit that even comes close to meeting the fantasy promises made in 2016. Whether there is a last-minute deal, or No Deal, the reality of Brexit will be a million miles away from what people were told they were voting for.
“The only way to deliver a democratic and lasting solution to the Brexit crisis is to give the public the final say. That’s why, as Parliament is sitting on 19 October, huge numbers of people from across the country will be marching from Park Lane to Parliament, demanding a People’s Vote.”
