Bradshaw – Sadiq Khan right to say MPs should act in the best interests of their constituents and the country on Brexit Bill amendments

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has urged MPs to “be brave” and back amendments to the Government’s EU Withdrawal Bill.

Commenting, Ben Bradshaw MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:

“Sadiq Khan is spot on to say the Commons votes coming up on Brexit are the most important MPs have faced for a generation. He is also right to say MPs should do what they think will be in the best interests of their constituents and the country rather than allow themselves to be cowed by party whips or the Brexiter press.

“It is ever more apparent that a hard Brexit will do lasting damage to our economy and living standards. Sadiq understands the importance of focusing on this big picture when MPs vote on a Customs Union, EEA and other vital amendments.”
