Dyson has announced that their new electric car will be built, not in Britain, but in Singapore.
Dyson was founded and is owned by Sir James Dyson, one of the few business figures to support Brexit in the 2016 referendum campaign.
Commenting, Ben Bradshaw MP, leading supporter of a People’s Vote, said:
“Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?
“Another elite supporter of quitting the EU has decided that Brexit might be for the rest of us but it’s not for him.
“Sir James Dyson has joined a growing list of Brexit-advocates who have turned their back on investing in Britain or on staking their future on our country’s success. John Redwood and Jacob Rees Mogg advise investing in overseas funds, Nigel Lawson gets French residency, Jim Ratcliffe, said to be the UK’s richest man, is moving to Monaco: the message from the Brexiters is plain and it’s that with Britain heading for a miserable deal, it’s time for the elite to put their money elsewhere.
“In the meantime, the rest of us are left paying higher prices in the shops, see our NHS lose essential staff and watch as our young people have their future stolen from them.
“No wonder more and more people have decided that they want a People’s Vote as the way out of the mess that those who told us Brexit would be free and the easiest thing ever have created.”
